Global Health Strategies

eHealth (or electronic health) is broadly defined by the World Health Organization as the “use of information and communication technology for health” (World Health Organization, 2005b).  The main objective of eHealth programs is to use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to improve healthcare service delivery and health outcomes through the strategic uses of technologies such as computers, internet, satellite receivers, and mobile phones.

Laisar is leveraging the increasing availability of free and open source software (F/OSS) to reach areas of the world that would otherwise have little to no health services.

Our strategic solutions are in the following areas:

  • Disease surveillance and control (malaria, HIV/AIDS, TB, diabetes, etc.)
  • Remote patient monitoring and clinical care
  • Health extension services, health promotion and community mobilization
  • Health services monitoring and reporting
  • Health related m-learning for the general public
